Osmar Ramón Vindell López, a political prisoner for physically resembling his brother.

Osmar Ramón Vindell, 37 years old, is the father of two children and a teenager, he is an agronomy technician, originally from Nagarote, department of León, he has worked as an administrator in a farm in the same town. Osmar is the brother of Santiago Vindell López, an active opponent since the crisis that occurred in April 2018.

On March 3, 2021 at approximately 10:30 a.m., people in civilian clothes began to go around the home of Osmar’s family, later the police and riot police carried out an illegal search, without a warrant in Nagarote in search of Santiago Vindell López, member of the Political Council of the Blue and White Unit in his town, when he was not found and due to the physical resemblance, his brother Osmar Ramón Vindell López was arrested, in the presence of his mother and was transferred to the León police station.

Osmar Ramón was accused by the Public Ministry for the crime of illegal transportation of narcotics, psychotropics and other controlled substances, he was sentenced by Judge Fátima Rosales to a sentence of 7 years in prison and forced to pay a fine of 25, 615.18 córdobas.

Osmar Ramón was the support of his three children, who are currently homeless, his relatives support their maintenance.

Osmar Ramón is currently serving an unjust sentence in the Chinandega Penitentiary System.
