The rock of the 70s and the freedom that Donald Alvarenga lacks
In the Facebook profile of Donald Margarito Alvarenga Mendoza, 56 years old, there are dozens of rock publications from the 70s and 80s, his biggest hobby when he was free. Among all these publications, operators of the Daniel Ortega regime found some publications making calls not to vote in the November 2021 elections, when Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo conducted a fraudulent electoral process to obtain a fourth consecutive term illegally, after imprisoning all persons who could stand as candidates for the opposition.
Alvarenga is an opponent in Chichigalpa, a small and warm municipality in the department of Chinandega in western Nicaragua from where he made some publications to demand the release of political prisoners from the Ortega regime, the second dictatorship he opposed, since previously, he was a combatant for the FSLN, in the fight against the Somoza dictatorship at the end of the 1970s, and a member of the Ministry of the Interior in the 1980s.
In January 2020, the co-opted criminal justice system in Nicaragua, made up of the Public Ministry and the Judiciary, made him the first opponent convicted by the repressive Cybercrime Law and the Law for the Defense of the Rights of the People to Independence, Sovereignty and Self-determination for Peace, approved at the end of 2020. In Chinandega they carried out a marathon trial full of nullities, which began at nine in the morning and ended at twelve at night. He received a sentence of 12 years in prison and 650 days of fines, imposed by Judge Rosa Velia Baca Cardoza, who considered that he had committed the crime of “undermining national integrity and spreading false news.”
Donald Margarito Alvarenga did not commit any crime and does not deserve to be deprived of his freedom and of listening to the music he likes just for demanding a free Nicaragua and the return of democracy.
Freedom for Donald Alvarenga!
We demand to the Ortega-Murillo regime: Free Nicaragua Now!
